What your China order costs delivered

This calculator adds up what a China order costs delivered to your door in the European Union: goods, China purchasing and handling, freight, the Equilinq service fee, customs duty and import value added tax (VAT). It uses the same fee rules as our Pricing page. The result is an estimate, not a quote.

Everything is worked out in your browser. Nothing is sent or stored.

Questions

What is landed cost?

Landed cost is everything you pay to get goods to your door: the goods, purchasing, freight, the service fee, customs duty and import VAT. Dividing landed cost by the quantity gives the real cost per unit.

Why is duty charged on freight too?

Customs duty in the EU is charged on the customs value, which is usually the price of the goods plus transport and insurance to the EU border. So freight to the border raises the duty, not only the goods price.

Can I reclaim import VAT?

A business registered for VAT can usually reclaim import VAT on its VAT return, so it is cash flow rather than a final cost. Customs duty cannot be reclaimed. Check the rules for your country with your accountant.
